Hopefully Roseanne Barr is Feeling the Pain

Racial Prejudice ... is alive & well.

Unfortunately ... a significant portion our educational effort focusing on the elimination of the US's racial divide appears to be falling short of its goal.

It's a little hard to stomach comments made by rather visible television personalities who most certainly express their hatred of those who are different based upon skin color, etc.

These visible personalities have scored big in life's financial lottery, yet they offer nothing more to society in the form of behavior that uplifts us. They in fact tear us down and bury us deeper into the morass of hatred and shame.

I am thankful for the fact that ABC canceled Roseanne Barr's show. By doing so, the network is vividly telling the citizens of our country, this kind of behavior and thought is not acceptable. They are telling us that personalities expressing themselves this way are NOT any longer to be tolerated. Reprisals will be swift, clear and permanent.

Even in my short tenure here on earth, I have been exposed to all kinds of racial hatred. A significant portion of which has managed to stay underground and whispered between folks.

This secret thought pattern rears its ugly head from time to time by folks like Ms. Barr and it's about time it gets stamped out permanently.

The only thing a lot of people care about is money and I am THANKFUL that Roseanne Barr's pocketbook is much lighter today.

Finished reading an article regarding a new medical research center being built by “Children’s Mercy Hospital” in Kansas City, MO. It’s going to be a beautiful building & one of architectural significance from the looks of it. I dare say that it most likely will be pretty expensive to build . Having not too long ago moved back to Kansas City from Houston … there, they are building new architecturally significant hospitals right & left … there appears to be no end in sight as to the building spree. I am not sure there is any more room left in the Houston Medical Center District. Some of my reading has implied that these facilities are of a high tech nature with all the bells & whistles necessary to deliver state of the art medical care to a generation of folks who are demanding such services. Net vs Brick-and-Mortar

A market battle is raging NOW between brick-and-mortar stores (Walmart) & the net (Amazon). I suppose the perception is such that an internet store can do it better, have a broader selection & be more responsive to the needs of the consumer. It’s possible that the internet store is more convenient & easier to use. Plus, maybe less expensive. The struggle for the internet store is that they have to figure out how to get the product to the end user …. the “last mile” they would say. Shipping costs can be significant. I recall not too long ago, planning on purchasing a product, where it was being offered something like this … “Buy 1, Get 2nd FREE”, the only thing needed to pay on the second one was shipping & handling. The free turned out not to be so free, therefore I couldn’t even buy the first one because of the shipping/handling cost. We REALLY Ought to Talk With Each Other

more than we do. It is hoped that we at least have heart to heart conversations with those close @ hand, but even then all kinds of emotional feelings stand in the way of truly communicating … thus very little progress is made in understanding the struggles & needs of another. Coincidentally, I was made aware of the plight of a family in our community. I have been so caught up in my own struggles that I hadn’t even bothered to give thought to others that may be going through similar stresses. As of late, ALL I have been able to focus on has been my problems, my concerns & my needs. SO, WE should TALK more (with everyone) ... & perhaps WE should LISTEN & Truly Care , but WHAT THEN??? Actually, I don’t really know “WHAT THEN?” I will say this. As result of the above knowledge, I don’t feel so alone … I don’t feel so desperate & above all else I am not quite as focused on me me me.
