Have a break in the action regarding preparation of individual tax returns for H & R Block. (btw that was a shameless plug for my biz LOL … since I have started down that path might as well encourage you to come & see me @ the District Office location up on Antioch RD in Gladstone *smile*) Now … sorry for the deviation from my original thought pattern LOL SECURITY CAMERA’s Sitting in the local branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library I noticed that they have installed NEW security camera’s … those little electronic half moons that would appear to house “seeing eyes” (Remember the movie “Casino” & the EYES in the SKY???) watching & recording SOMETHING. RATS, another camera is going to look at that bald spot on the top of my head grrrrr. In quizzing library staff the reason for their need, it was explained to them by management that they were necessary to secure assets (books, CD’s, DVD’s etc) & of course provide security for patrons & staff. more than we do. It is hoped that we at least have heart to heart conversations with those close @ hand, but even then all kinds of emotional feelings stand in the way of truly communicating … thus very little progress is made in understanding the struggles & needs of another. Coincidentally, I was made aware of the plight of a family in our community. I have been so caught up in my own struggles that I hadn’t even bothered to give thought to others that may be going through similar stresses. As of late, ALL I have been able to focus on has been my problems, my concerns & my needs. SO, WE should TALK more (with everyone) ... & perhaps WE should LISTEN & Truly Care , but WHAT THEN??? Actually, I don’t really know “WHAT THEN?” I will say this. As result of the above knowledge, I don’t feel so alone … I don’t feel so desperate & above all else I am not quite as focused on me me me. Who knows how this will effect my actions tomorrow, BUT … I’m sensing tha...

There is NO magic here regarding the above. The truth is that the dominant thoughts you have provide a frame of reference through which you evaluate all that is happening in your life. Things are what they are. BUT, how we evaluate & act upon them are entirely based upon the color of the glasses through which we view them. Our response patterns follow accordingly. Give some thought to the fact that it is “MONDAY” (I know, WHAT A SURPRISE?? See the filter???) … what kind of prevailing thoughts do you have about it??? Those thoughts will then be the filter thru which you evaluate ALL that happens today. Try a little experiment TODAY … catalog your current feelings about “Monday” & then intellectually change one of them to something different … with that different perception look @ the affairs of the day & how do they change … more importantly how does it effect the way you act, the way you feel??? You know??? I think I have convinced myself to try it LOL … Mix it up...

The events of this week have reminded me of just how important we really think we are to the overall scheme of things & how quickly it all can change. Apple's leader has to step aside for health reasons & Google's leader is replaced suddenly ... both of these individuals would seem to be @ the top of their game & critical to the operations of their respective companies but, they are now gone. The "Jobs" transition was unpredictable due to health (How many health issues have changed our lives???) & Schmidt was just NOT deemed capable to meeting future challenges ... WOW Perhaps we are just placing too much emphasis on things that simply don't matter. Maybe our real significance is exactly what we are doing now ... me talking to you, you reading ... us, connecting & enjoying the people/family/friends that are in our lives RIGHT now. I for one don't want to be remembered as a tax person, consultant, accountant or CPA. I would like to be rememb...

If one were to look @ my Facebook status posts over time ALL one would see are a series of quotes from various sources that somehow spoke to me concerning matters that where/are of interest to me. None were posted to convey messages to anyone other than that they served to inspire me in areas I felt weak or deficit in. I’ve been thinking that I should start expressing my own inner thoughts & perceptions regarding things that inspire me to more than a casual passing on a day to day basis & see where it all ends up.
